Music lessons for real people

who want to get better.

The Journeymen School of Music isn’t a kids’ class repurposed for everyone else. We’re built around players with some experience already under their fingers — especially intermediate players ready to take the next step. No recitals, no entry level method books, no rush. Just real instruction, real conversation, and the time it actually takes to learn something well.

Who we're for

You know a few chords. You’ve played an open mic, or you’ve belted it out at karaoke and thought, *I could actually get good at this.* Maybe you played an instrument years ago and want back in. Maybe you’ve been teaching yourself for a while and hit a wall you can’t quite get past on your own.

Our focus is determined players — people who already have some foundation and are ready to build on it seriously. That said, we’re happy to work with true beginners too; it’s just not who we built this school around, so don’t be surprised if the lesson structure and pacing are aimed at students who already have a little playing under their belt.

Either way, you’ll be treated like a serious student, because you are one.

Why 90 Minutes

We don’t offer 30-minute lessons. Every private lesson at Journeymen is 90 minutes. A deliberate choice, not a default. It’s your weekly chance to actually learn something, practice it until it sticks, and put it to use, instead of running out the clock right as a concept starts to click.

More than a day job

Our instructors don’t just teach — they perform, record, release music, and tour.
